SunSirs: Under Cost Support, the Price of Titanium Dioxide Market Rose in November

Take the rutile titanium dioxide produced by sulfuric acid process as an example, which has a large volume in the domestic market. According to data from SunSirs’ bulk list, the price of titanium dioxide has risen this month. At the beginning of November, the domestic average price of titanium dioxide was 15,333.33 RMB/ton. As of November 27, the average price was 16,000 RMB/ton. The price rose by 4.35% during the month.

Analysis review   

The market price of titanium dioxide rose this month. Based on the relatively stable orders in the foreign trade export market, the supply-side manufacturers and distributors are still tight on the spot, coupled with the boosting of the raw material titanium concentrate market. The current price of titanium dioxide is still high. As of the 27th, the domestic ex-factory price of rutile titanium dioxide was 15,000-16,800 RMB/ton with tax, and the ex-factory price of anatase titanium dioxide was 13,200-14,000 RMB/ton.

In October 2020, China's titanium dioxide output was 322,900 tons, an increase of approximately 20,700 tons from September, a month-on-month increase of 6.85% and an increase of 17.57% year-on-year. The total output of titanium dioxide from January to October was about 2,839,200 tons, an increase of 9.57% year-on-year and an increase of 248,000 tons.

According to customs data, China exported about 110,200 tons of titanium dioxide in October 2020, a year-on-year increase of 38.84% and a month-on-month decrease of 1.43%. From January to October, the cumulative export was about 1.0005 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 21.88%.

In terms of raw materials, the price of titanium concentrate in Panxi region increased this month, and the market price of imported titanium ore also rose, which to a certain extent supported the profit of Panxi. Downstream buyers are under greater pressure and actual transactions are average. Up to now, the price of 46,10 titanium ore from small and medium-sized manufacturers is 2,000-2,100 RMB/ton; the price of 47,20 ore is 2,050 RMB/ton, and the price of 38,42 ore excluding tax is 1,320-1,400 RMB/ton.
