This week, the average ex-factory price of Northwest calcium carbide manufacturers’ ex-factory prices rose from 2,733.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 2,766.67 RMB/ton at the weekend, an increase of 33.34 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.22%, and a decrease of 2.58% year-on-year. Overall, the calcium carbide market rose slightly this week, and the calcium carbide commodity index on October 23 was 72.49.

Analysis review   

Judging from the manufacturer’s quotations, the ex-factory price of calcium carbide in Northwestern China rose slightly this week: Oviganon offered 2,740 RMB/ton for calcium carbide this weekend. Inner Mongolia Zhonglian quoted 2,760 RMB/ton for calcium carbide this weekend. Compared with the beginning of the week, the quotation is temporarily stable; Ningxia Xingping's calcium carbide quotation this weekend was 2,800 RMB/ton, which is an increase of 100 RMB/ton compared with the beginning of the week.

On the whole, the actual transaction price of calcium carbide in Northwest China this weekend was around 2,700-2,800 RMB/ton: the mainstream transaction price of calcium carbide in Shaanxi was about 2,740 RMB/ton; the mainstream transaction price of calcium carbide in Ningxia was about 2,780 RMB/ton; The mainstream transaction price of calcium carbide in Inner Mongolia was around 2,750 RMB/ton, and the actual transaction price was mainly negotiated.

From the perspective of the upstream and downstream industrial chain of calcium carbide, in the upstream raw material market, the ex-factory price of Lantan has been temporarily stable this week. The current price of small materials is 650 RMB/ton, the quotation of medium materials is 680 RMB/ton, and the quotation of large materials is about 750 RMB/ton. The price of upstream raw materials has risen slightly, and the cost support is good, which has a positive impact on the price of calcium carbide.

Downstream market quotations, PVC ex-factory prices rose this week. The price of PVC rose from 6,975.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 7,025.00 RMB/ton at the weekend, an increase of 0.72%, and finally broke the 7000 RMB/ton mark. There was anr increase of 5.56% over the same period last year. The price of PVC rose slightly this week, and the market was better. The downstream enthusiasm for calcium carbide purchases increased. As a whole, the PVC market this week had a positive impact on calcium carbide prices.

Market outlook

In late October, the calcium carbide market fluctuated up mainly. The price of upstream raw materials rose slightly, which provided good support for calcium carbide prices, and the downstream pvc market rose slightly, and downstream customers were more enthusiastic about purchasing calcium carbide. The market outlook predicts that the price of calcium carbide in the northwestern region may rise slightly in late October.
