SunSirs: In September, the Trend of Ammonium Biphosphate Was Stable, DAP Continued to Rise

According to the data of SunSirs’ bulk list, the average ex-factory price of powdered ammonium biphosphate on September 1 was 1,866 RMB/ton, and the average ex-factory price of powdered ammonium biphosphate was 1,866 RMB/ton on September 30. The price remained stable during the month.

According to the data of SunSirs’ bulk list, the average ex-factory price of 64% DAP was 2,268 RMB/ton on September 1, and the average ex-factory price of 64% DAP was 2,306 RMB/ton on September 30. The price rose 1.67% during the month.

Analysis review   

The demand for ammonium biphosphate increased in September, the price remained stable, and the company's operating rate was about 72%. The ex-factory price of 55% powdered ammonium biphosphate in Anhui area was 1,900-1,950 RMB/ton, and the construction started smoothly. The ex-factory price of 55% powdered ammonium biphosphate in Hubei area wa around 1,850-1,950 RMB/ton, and the mainstream ex-factory price of 60% powdered ammonium biphosphate was 2,050-2,100 RMB/ton. The market in Henan maintained stable operation, and the ex-factory price of 55% powdered ammonium biphosphate was about 1,900 RMB/ton, and the start of construction was stable. The ex-factory price of 55% of powdered ammonium biphosphate in Shandong area was 1,850-1,950 RMB/ton, and the price was stable. The ex-factory price of 55% powdered ammonium biphosphate in Sichuan was about 1,900 RMB/ton.

The market for DAP was firm in September, prices continued to rise, and the operating rate of enterprises was about 60%. The mainstream factory price of 64% DAP in Hubei area was 2,250-2,350 RMB/ton, the mainstream factory price of 64% DAP in Shandong area was 2,300-2,350 RMB/ton, and the mainstream factory price of 64% DAP in Yunnan-Guizhou area was 2,300-2,450 RMB/ton. The mainstream ex-factory price of 64% DAP in Anhui was 2,250-2,450 RMB/ton. The mainstream ex-factory price of 64% DAP in Gansu area was 2,300-,2450 RMB/ton. The first arrival price of 64% DAP in Heilongjiang area was about 2,500 RMB/ton.

In September, the raw material sulfur market went up as a whole. Port holders supported the market obviously. The sulfur market continued to rise. Domestic sulfur manufacturers adjusted their quotations according to the sales situation, and the price trend rose steadily during the month. As of the 30th, the price of solid sulfur in East China was 860-1,060 RMB/ton, and the price of liquid sulfur was 760-900 RMB/ton; the price of solid sulfur in North China was 710-800 RMB/ton, and the price of liquid sulfur was 660-720 RMB/tons; the prices of solid and liquid sulfur in Shandong were 840-850 RMB/ton. Some downstream compound fertilizer enterprises resumed production and their operating rate increased.

Market outlook

The ammonium phosphate analyst of SunSirs believes that the demand for raw materials from compound fertilizer companies in the northeast region increased in September, the inventory of ammonium biphosphate decreased, the supply of goods was tight, and the market trend was firm. Domestic demand for DAP was stable in September, while foreign demand was good, and prices continued to rise. It is expected that ammonium biphosphate will increase steadily in October, while DAP may continue to rise.
