SunSirs: Waste Paper and Corrugated Paper are expected to be in a Favorable Situation in the Short Term

October 14 2019 14:00:13     SunSirs (Selena)

According to SunSirs, last week (10.7-10.12) the purchase price of waste yellow board market showed a small wave of rising trend after the National Day holiday, and the three major paper mills, Shanying, Liwen and Jiulong, all increased their prices. The corrugated paper is still showing a good trend after the holidays, and the price is still on the rise. On October 12, the average purchase price of waste yellow board was 1,938.57 RMB/ton, which was 1.12% higher than that at the beginning of the week. On October 12, the average price of corrugated paper was 3086.67 RMB/ton, up 1.65% compared with the beginning of the week.

After the holidays, the start-up rate of paper mills gradually recovered, and the demand for waste paper increased. Therefore, the price increase of waste paper after the holidays also attracted positive shipments from packaging factories.

For corrugated paper, after the holidays, the price of the base paper market increased frequently, with a general increase of 50-100 RMB/ton. The reasons for the price increase of paper mills focus on environmental factors and the rising cost of waste paper. On the surface, the current market is in the peak season of sales, and whether the upward trend can continued depends on the implementation of the market.

According to the paper analyst of SunSirs, at present, the prices of waste paper and corrugated paper are on the rise. With the coming of e-commerce festivals in the future, the stock production of paper mills is relatively positive, which supports the market demand. In addition, due to the increase of orders in peak season, the change of exchange rate and the increase of cost of environmental production restriction, it is expected that the short-term price of waste paper and raw paper will be in a favorable situation.
