August 11 2020 14:41:59     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the chloroform market in Shandong has fallen sharply due to the sluggish downstream demand. At the beginning of the week, the average price of chloroform in Shandong was around 1,900 RMB/ton, and the average price of chloroform dropped to 1,750 RMB/ton on weekends, a decrease of 7.89% during the week, a decrease of 12.5% from the same period last month.

Analysis review

This week, the spot supply of chloroform in Shandong was sufficient, and the sales of enterprises were not good. The demand in the downstream market has not improved for a long time. The long-term sluggish performance has led to a decline in chloroform. At present, the price of Shandong area is about 1,700-1,730 RMB/ton, the price of Jiangxi Liwen is about 2,300 RMB/ton, and the price of Jiangsu area is about 2,650 RMB/ton.

In the upstream market, the methanol market was weak and down. With the gradual recovery of market supply, the market's bearish attitude intensified, currently around 1,632 RMB/ton; the liquid chlorine market was gradually weakening, and the company started to increase but the downstream market demand did not followed up, and the price of liquid chlorine continued to decline, the current average price was around 300-600 RMB/ton.

On the downstream side, the downstream refrigerant market for chloroform entered the off-season, the demand for the air-conditioning industry was weak, the focus of market transactions shifted downward, and the transaction atmosphere was light. The supply of goods in the market was sufficient, and the market outlook have the influence of new production capacity entering the market. The competition was fierce, the supply side was gradually becoming negative, and the price continued to decline; the pharmaceutical and agricultural thinner industries mainly purchased on rigid demand, and support for the chloroform market was flat.

Market outlook

Methane Chloride Data Analyst of SunSirs believes that the current supply of chloroform in the market is sufficient, and the pressure on the company's inventory is increasing, and the downstream market starts at a low level, and the demand for chloroform is just poor, and it is expected to decline slightly in a short period of time.
