SunSirs: The DOP Market Fell Down

Price trend

According to the data monitored by SunSirs, the price of plasticizer DOP fluctuated and dropped in July, and the DOP market fell slowly. As of July 13, the price of DOP East China was 7,166.67 RMB/ton, which was 3.59% lower than the price of 7,433.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 5.70% year-on-year.

Analysis review

From the raw material phthalic anhydride trend chart, we can see that the price of DOP raw material phthalic anhydride fluctuated in July. Since mid-June, the price of phthalic anhydride has fluctuated and fell, the market for phthalic anhydride has fallen, and the downward pressure of DOP market has increased.

As can be seen from the 2-EH price trend chart, the 2-EH price fell sharply in July, the DOP cost fell, and the downward pressure of DOP market has increased.

As can be seen from the PVC price chart, the price of PVC rose sharply in July, and the PVC market picked up in July. The demand for DOP was mainly based on rigid demand, and the PVC market renewed its strength, which was good for the DOP market.

Market outlook

DOP data analysts of SunSirs believe that in the upstream raw materials, the prices of phthalic anhydride and 2-EH of DOP raw materials fell in July, DOP cost decreased, and DOP pressure increased; in terms of downstream demand, PVC prices rose in July, and PVC market rebounded, which was good for DOP market. Downstream customers purchase mainly by rigid demand, and downstream customers purchase actively, which is good for DOP market. In general, DOP upstream and downstream market tear deviation, DOP market good and bad coexist, DOP market shock down slightly.
