SunSirs: The Price of Ethylene Glycol Shocked Adjustment This Week (9.23-27)

According to data from SunSirs, the average listing factory price of oil-based ethylene glycol in North China on September 27 was 5100 RMB per ton, which was the same as last week.
This week, the price of large single tank of ethylene glycol in eastern China fluctuated between 5145 RMB and 5155 RMB per ton, which was the same as last week's price.
Analysis review
The start-up rate of ethylene-based ethylene glycol plant in China is about 71.5%, which is the same as last week. The start-up rate of coal-based ethylene glycol plant is about 58.37%, which has increased.
The ethylene glycol port inventory in Eastern China was about 595,500 tons, down about 50,000 tons from last week.
The starting load of the polyester plant was around 88.73%, a slight decrease from the previous month. The production and sales of polyester chips are around 66%, and the production and sales have increased significantly.
Market outlook
Ethylene glycol analysts in SunSirs believe that the ethylene glycol continues to de-stock, and the downstream polyester load has been at a high level recently. However, due to the impact of the Saudi incident last week, the price of ethylene glycol has been raised, and this week is in a callback state. It is expected that the price of ethylene glycol will continue to fluctuate in the near future.
