SunSirs: The Price of 2-EH Rose Slightly in Shandong This Week （May 18-22）

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the ex factory price of 2-EH in Shandong Province rose slightly this week. This week, the average ex factory price of main 2-EH in Shandong increased from 6,400.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 6,550.00 RMB/ton at the end of the week, up 2.34%, down 7.96% year on year compared with the same period last year. Overall, 2-EH rose this week, with the May 22 2-EH commodity index at 48.16.

Analysis review   

Product: At present, the operating rate of domestic 2-EH plant is acceptable; Hualu Hengsheng 2-EH plant is shut down for maintenance; the annual capacity of Jiangsu Huachang Chemical 2-EH plant is 80,000 tons, and there is no maintenance plan.

This week, the factory quotation of the mainstream 2-EH manufacturers in Shandong slightly increased: the quotation of the 2-EH of Jianlan Chemical Co., Ltd. this weekend was 6,500 RMB/ton, up 100 RMB/ton compared with the beginning of the week; the quotation of the 2-EH of Lihuayi Co., Ltd. this weekend was 6,600 RMB/ton, up 200 RMB/ton compared with the beginning of the week; Hualu Hengsheng 2-EH unit overhaul this week.

Industrial chain: Upstream raw material market: The propylene market has risen slightly this week. The quotation rose from 6,829.09 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 6,969.18 RMB/ton at the weekend, an increase of 2.20%, a year-on-year decrease of 1.36%. The upstream raw material market price rose slightly, affected by supply and demand, and had a positive impact on the 2-EH price.

Downstream market conditions: DOP ex-factory prices rose this week. DOP quotations rose from 6,766.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to ,7033.33 RMB/ton at the weekend, an increase of 3.94%, down 6.01% year-on-year. Downstream customers' enthusiasm for 2-EH purchases increased, and 2-EH demand was high, and the increase in DOP prices had a positive impact on 2-EH prices. Aftermarket players watch the trend of DOP.

Market outlook

In late May, the market trend of Shandong 2-EH rose slightly. Upstream propylene prices rose slightly, cost support was strong, and downstream procurement enthusiasm was good. SunSirs 2-EH analysts believe that in late May, under the influence of supply, demand and raw materials in Shandong 2-EH market, the 2-EH market may rise slightly.
