Most Textile Enterprises Have Prepared to Work, but No More Than Half Have Actually Started

February 24 2020 09:07:04     CNOTTON.COM (Linda)

It is known that a textile industrial park in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, has planned to resume work from February 8th but only 2 enterprises started work on February 15th, and then on the afternoon of February 20th, when the relevant personnel of the town where the park is located are connected again, 36 enterprises have started work in this industrial Park (including 10 textile machinery parts enterprises), which is actually a 50 enterprises based on chemical fiber raw materials. Some of these start-up enterprises only start staff training, some adjust to their posts, some select and equip materials, and the real operating rate is less than half.

It is understood that novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic prevention and control is still in a critical period, and the ‘defensive strategy of counties’ is the key to the prevention and control of the disease. The acceptance system of enterprises' acceptance of different conditions is different depending on the epidemic situation, and the awareness of enterprises' own protection has also been enhanced. Therefore, both government and enterprises pay more attention to the level of reemployment protection measures while pursuing the resumption rate.

At present, the main difficulty for textile enterprises to return to work in coastal cotton areas or along the river is still the low rate of employees returning to work in other provinces and cities. Even after they arrive at the factory, they still need to be isolated for 7-14 days. However, enterprises regard the arrival of employees from other places as the resumption of work, which is a real distance from working. This is also the reason that some areas can only carry out pre-production preparation before the end of February and cannot realize the real sense of commencement.

From the perspective of cotton supply, purchase, sale and circulation, the situation faced by textile enterprises is also complex. The current stock of raw materials of most local enterprises is acceptable (most of them use two months). Due to the Spring Festival, even if no preparation has been made to prevent this sudden epidemic, all textile enterprises will reserve more than usual stock and will not stock before the Lantern Festival.

Now, enterprises are gradually starting to digest raw materials. It is not clear about the market port, quotation information and transaction time of raw materials supply in the future. From the perspective of network information, only a few cotton operating companies have reported the transaction schedule, and the rest are still in preparation. However, as the trend of cotton textile market is not clear, it is expected that buyers and sellers will have a strong wait-and-see mood. Fortunately, the cotton market has abundant stocks and a large number of trading companies. As long as the ‘pocket is rich and the market has a way’, textile enterprises can buy suitable cotton at any time. As for the purchase, sale and circulation, it may change with the development of the epidemic situation. After learning from some traffic management and drivers in the cotton area, they are more inclined to operate on the road after the basic lifting of the ban, because the anti-epidemic treatment and inspection of the dense road will affect the driving efficiency and transportation efficiency.

In addition, the financial, inspection, tax, safety and other links that normally connect with the whole textile industry chain have the problem of reconnecting the textile enterprises after they return to work and start up, so as to realize full load production and smooth flow of goods in a real sense. It also needs the support of the market and the joint efforts of the government, enterprises, social enterprises and other aspects.
