SunSirs: Export Volume Increases, Rare Earth Market Prices Stop Falling and Stabilize

January 22 2020 12:32:05     SunSirs (Linda)

Recently, the domestic rare earth price trend has remained stable. The domestic Spring Festival holiday has gradually weakened the intra-market transactions. The price trend of some domestic rare products:

Recently, the domestic heavy rare earth market prices have stabilized. The price of hafnium oxide lasted 21 days was 170 million RMB/ton; the price of samarium ferroalloy was 168.5 million RMB/ton; the price trend of the domestic light rare earth market was stable, and the price of neodymium oxide continued on the 21st is 292,000 RMB/ton, the price trend is stable; the price of praseodymium neodymium alloy is 358,000 RMB/ton, the price trend is stable; the price of praseodymium neodymium oxide is 279,000 RMB/ton, the price trend is stable; the price of metal neodymium is 367,500 RMB/ton. The trend is stable. Affected by the favorable policies of the state, the rare domestic market remains high.

The rare earth index on January 20 was 338 points, which was the same as yesterday. It was 66.20% lower than the highest point of the cycle (December 6, 2011), and was 24.72% higher than the low of 271 points on September 13, 2015. (Note: Period refers to December 1, 2011 to present).

Recent rare earth market prices have stopped falling and stabilized. According to statistics, the domestic rare earth market ’s export volume increased significantly in December. China ’s rare earth export volume in December was 3,657.3 tons, which was an increase of about 38.7% over the November export volume. In the domestic rare earth market, the domestic rare earth price trend remains high. Coupled with the recent high demand for permanent magnets, the market trend of ytterbium neodymium series products rebounded, the supply in the market was normal, the recent demand for light rare earth was average, and the market price did not change much. The price fluctuations of the rare earth market are related to environmental protection inspections across the country. The production of rare earths is special, especially the radiation hazards of some products make strict environmental protection supervision. Under strict environmental protection investigations, manufacturers reasonably controlled sales, but the recent downstream demand has not changed much, and most of the rare earth prices have stabilized.

SunSirs rare earth analysts expect that the recent domestic environmental investigations will continue to strengthen, coupled with favorable domestic support for the rare earth industry exports, the supply and demand pattern is improving, and it is expected that the price of heavy rare earths in the rare earth market is expected to remain high after the Spring Festival.
