SunSirs: In November, the Dichloromethane Market Fluctuated and Fell
November 29 2022 14:40:53SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the dichloromethane market in November fell in shock. As of November 28, the average price of bulk water dichloromethane in Shandong was 2,387 RMB/ton, down 18.72% from the price of 2,937 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The supply of dichloromethane was loose, the demand was sluggish, and the price dropped due to the contradiction between supply and demand.

Analysis review

In November, the supply of methane chloride remained relatively loose. Dongyue 300,000 t/a methane chloride plant was operated at low load in early and middle November, and restarted to full load in late November; Jiujiang Jiuhong 100,000 t/a methane chloride plant was shut down for maintenance since November 20; The 300,000 t/a methane chloride plant in Guangxi Jinyi was reduced from 80% to 40% load in late November; Dongying Huatai 160,000t/a methane chloride plant was restarted this month, and the load was increased to 50% at the end of the month.

Raw material prices fell in shock, and the cost of dichloromethane fell slightly. According to SunSirs, as of November 28, the spot price of methanol was 2,753 RMB/ton, down 2.92% from 2,836 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The supply was abundant, but the existing demand had not been significantly boosted, and the domestic methanol market will mainly be sorted out weakly in the short term.

In November, the third generation refrigerant R 32 downstream of dichloromethane started at a low level. In addition, the thinner/coating industry started at a low level, with weak demand, and the price of dichloromethane fell.

Market outlook

Analysts from the methane chloride data of SunSirs believe that the cost of dichloromethane was going down, the demand was weak, and the pressure on the supply side was still there. It is expected that the dichloromethane market will continue the weak pattern in the short term.
