SunSirs: The Price of Live Pigs Fluctuated in China Last Week (September 12-16)
September 20 2022 10:12:35SunSirs(Selena)

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of domestic and imported Sanyuan pigs fluctuated last week, with the average price of 23.20 RMB/kg at the beginning of the week and 23.35 RMB /kg at the weekend, a slight increase of 0.65%.

In the middle of September, the supply and demand game in the domestic pig market was still fierce, and the farmers' mentality of being reluctant to sell at a high price remained unchanged. After the weather gradually turned cold, the demand for terminal meat picked up slightly, supporting the continuous strong operation of domestic pig prices. The country delivered frozen meat for two consecutive weeks, and the policy of ensuring stable supply and price was launched. The pig prices in some regions fell back slightly, and the domestic pig market prices moved forward in a small amplitude.

Last week, the domestic corn price continued to run strongly, rising 0.36% within the week, while the domestic soybean meal price rose and fell back, rising 3.90% within the week. In general, the domestic pig breeding and feeding cost continued to rise as a whole, and the continuous rise in the feeding cost will form a strong bottom support for the future pig market price.

SunSirs analysts believe that, the breeding cost continues to be high, the farmers' mentality of being reluctant to sell at a high price remains unchanged, the market supply and demand game is still fierce, the national reserve of cold frozen meat continues to launch, the policy of ensuring supply and stable price starts, and the overall rise and fall of the pig price in the short term is a dilemma. It is expected that the overall domestic pig price will fluctuate slightly at the current level in China.
