Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the vinyl cyanide market rose slightly this week (9.9-9.16). As of September 16, the domestic spot market price of vinyl cyanide was 9,810 RMB/ton, up 2.72% from 9,550 RMB/ton last Friday.

Analysis review

This week, the operating rate of the supply side of the domestic vinyl cyanide industry was basically stable, the overall operating rate was 60-70%. The downstream stocks were slightly stocked before the holiday, and the merchants' offers rose as a whole. As of September 16, the mainstream offer of vinyl cyanide bulk water market in East China was between 9,700~9,950 RMB/ton.

This week (9.9-9.16) the price of raw material propylene rose slightly, supported by the cost. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of September 16, the domestic propylene price was 7,434 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.56% from last Friday's 7,320 RMB/ton.

Driven by export inquiries, the operating rate of downstream ABS continued to increase. In September, the operating rate of ABS increased to nearly 90%; Jilin Jimeng and Jilin Qifeng have a total of 306,000 tons/year of acrylic fiber plant maintenance plan, which has lowered the domestic acrylic fiber operating rate, around 40%; Nitrile rubber and acrylamide started stable, and the demand for vinyl cyanide was supported compared to the previous period.

Market outlook

The vinyl cyanide analyst of SunSirs believes that in the short term, vinyl cyanide is supported by the cost and demand side, and it is expected that the vinyl cyanide market will consolidate at a high level in the short term.
