Price trend

According to the data of SunSirs, the chloroform market this week (8.9-8.16) was stable and weak. As of August 16, the price of chloroform (bulk water) in Shandong remained at 2,750 RMB/ton. The supply side continued to be loose, the downstream demand was mainly light and stable, and the chloroform market was stable and weak.

Analysis review

This week (8.9-8.16) the domestic methane chloride production started at 70% to 80%, and the supply side was still under pressure, which restricted the dichloromethane market.

Since August, methanol spot fluctuations have been weak, and the impact on the cost side has been weak. According to the understanding of SunSirs, as of August 16, the spot price of methanol was 2,483 RMB/ton, down 2.79% from 2,555 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

Affected by high temperature weather, the aftermarket demand for refrigerant R22 was supported. The overall low level of R22 was stable, and the support for chloroform was mainly temporarily stable. However, after the beginning of autumn, the high temperature weather will gradually end, and the demand side is expected to fall again.

Market outlook

The methane chloride data analyst of SunSirs believes that the pressure on the domestic supply side is still there; the demand for refrigerants is supported to a certain extent. It is expected that chloroform will maintain a stable consolidation in a narrow range in the later period, and it is expected that chloroform will fall slightly as the high temperature weather ends.
