July 06 2022 10:03:55SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of July 5, 2022, the average ex-factory price of domestic industrial-grade dimethyl carbonate was 6,566 RMB/ton. Compare with the price on June 30, 2022 (the reference price of dimethyl carbonate was 5,833 RMB/ton), the price increased by 733 RMB/ton, an increase of 12.57%.

Analysis review

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, it can be seen that at the end of June, the domestic dimethyl carbonate market was running up in a narrow range, and the trading atmosphere in the market was acceptable. Entering July, the overall dimethyl carbonate market continued its upward trend. The inventory of dimethyl carbonate in the field was low and the supply was tight. The supply side gave support to the dimethyl carbonate market. On the 4th and 5th, the quotation prices of some dimethyl carbonate factories were raised by a wide range, and the increase rate was around 500-800 RMB/ton. Some factories in Shandong did not offer quotations. As of July 5, the domestic ex-factory price of dimethyl carbonate was 6,400-6,700 RMB/ton, an increase of 9.4% in two days, and an increase of more than 14% in ten days. As of the 5th, the supply side of dimethyl carbonate was still mainly tight, and the market was running to be strong at a high level.

In terms of upstream propylene oxide, in June, the domestic propylene oxide market was down as a whole, and into July, the propylene oxide market continued to decline. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, as of July 5, the reference price of propylene oxide was 10,433.33 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.63% compared with that on July 1 (10,500 RMB/ton).

Market outlook

At present, the trading atmosphere in the dimethyl carbonate market is mild, the supply side supports the market, and the downstream demand is just in demand. Analysts of dimethyl carbonate from SunSirs believe that in the short term, the dimethyl carbonate market will mostly be consolidated, and more attention should be paid to the basic changes in supply and demand.
