Analysis review
On June 8, the spot price of softwood pulp dropped slightly, and the price of pulp futures fluctuated weakly. On the disk, the opening price of the sp2209 contract was 7,232 RMB/ton, and the closing price was 7,180 RMB/ton, a daily decrease of 0.8%.
At present, the supply-side disturbance factors continue. Metsä Fibre's AKI pulp mill has reduced supply due to equipment problems, and some Russian manufacturers will also reduce domestic supply, which will form a certain support for the pulp market.
Under the high cost, the domestic paper mills have limited room for profit-cuttings. Although the downstream paper mills have slightly increased the start-up, the market transaction is flat and the overall demand performance is average.
Market outlook
The pulp futures market continues to fluctuate within a narrow range, and the downstream market is still dominated by rigid demand. The spot price fluctuates slightly, and the industry is in a strong wait-and-see mood. It is expected that the price of wood pulp will continue to fluctuate in the short term.
