According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average price of domestic methanol from production enterprises on May 12 was 2,637 RMB/ton, down 2.85% from the previous trading day and down 0.57% year-on-year.
Analysis review
On May 12, methanol futures on Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange rebounded again. The main contract MA2209 closed at 2,728 RMB/ton in late trading, up 26 RMB/ton or 2.10% from the previous close.
In terms of spot, coal prices were firm, and methanol production costs were supported. Crude oil rebounded, and methanol prices moved higher. At present, the fundamentals of methanol are relatively stable, and downstream purchases are mainly based on rigid demand.
Market outlook
In the short term, the domestic methanol market is mainly stabilized.
