In March 2022, the domestic sulfuric acid market price rose sharply. The price of sulfuric acid rose from 781.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of March to the price of 1,116.67 RMB/ton at the end of March, an increase of 335 RMB/ton or 42.86%, and a year-on-year increase of 167.47%.

The cost support was strengthened, the downstream demand was strong, and the increase in the price of sulfuric acid was also expected. The price of upstream sulfur rose sharply. In March, the price of sulfur rose by 970 RMB/ton, an increase of 40.42%, and a year-on-year increase of 128.22%. The price of downstream ammonium sulfate rose by 688.33 RMB/ton in March, or 57.60%. The price of downstream formic acid rose by 2,483.33 RMB/ton in March, or 53.79%, compared with the same period last year, up 173.08%. Hydrofluoric acid and titanium dioxide market conditions were consolidating at a high level, which also brought certain benefits to the price of sulfuric acid.
