March 31 2022 09:56:57SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of March 30, the ex-factory price of dichloromethane in Shandong was 5,137 RMB/ton, a sharp increase of 19.55% from the price of 4,297 RMB/ton in early March.

Analysis review

In March, the price of raw material methanol rose, and the cost side pushed the price of dichloromethane higher. International crude oil prices remained high in March, driving energy products to remain high, methanol prices rose sharply, and costs rose. In addition, the start of domestic methane chloride plant fell slightly, and the pressure on the supply side eased, which had a positive impact on the dichloromethane market.

According to the knowledge of SunSirs, in March, the Jinling Dawang installation was shut down; the load of the Juhua installation was 50-60%; the Dongyue installation started around 70%... The supply of dichloromethane decreased slightly in March.

Methanol prices rose in March, and the cost was strengthened in the face of chloroform. According to the understanding of SunSirs, as of March 30, the price of methanol was 3,090 RMB/ton, an increase of 13.19% from the price of 2,730 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

Market outlook

The dichloromethane analyst of SunSirs believes that as of the end of March, the start-up of methane chloride plants has declined and the cost has increased, but the downstream demand is weak. On the whole, the dichloromethane market will fluctuate and consolidate in the short term.
