According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the domestic price of sodium metabisulfite rebounded slightly this week. The average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite was 2,400.00 RMB/ton on February 1, and the average price on February 28 was 2,583.33 RMB/ton, up 7.64% within the month.

Analysis review

After the Spring Festival, supported by the rebound of upstream soda ash prices, manufacturers successively raised the ex-factory price of sodium metabisulfite, which drove the domestic sodium metabisulfite market price to rebound in an all-round way after the year, and the average price at the end of the month rose to 2,583.33 RMB/ton.

In February, the domestic price of soda ash rose by 20%, and the price of sulfur rose by 4.81%. The cost of raw materials rose again, and the cost will further support the domestic sodium metabisulfite market price in the future.

Market outlook

Analysts from SunSirs believe that under the dual support of cost and demand, it is expected that the domestic sodium metabisulfite market price will still have some room for recovery in March.
