Aluminum prices rise on January 6

On January 6, the average price of domestic aluminum ingots in the East China market was 20763.33 yuan/ton, which was an increase of 2.16% from the 5-day average market price of 20,323.33 yuan/ton; it was an increase of 9.86% from the average market price of 18900 yuan/ton at the beginning of the month (December 1) .

At the peak of 2021 (October 19, 2021), the average market price of aluminum ingots was 24,240 yuan/ton, which recently deviated from the peak and dropped by 14.34%. Based on the starting point of the recent recovery (December 13, 2021), the average market price of aluminum ingots is 18,693.33 yuan/ton, which has recently increased by 11.07%.

Aluminum price

The recent rebound in aluminum prices is mainly based on supply expectations, especially in the European energy crisis. Natural gas factors have led to an increase in electricity prices, which has triggered many aluminum plants in Europe to reduce production. In addition, the domestic supply-side reforms have achieved remarkable results in the past few years, and production capacity has basically formed a ceiling. In 1-2 years, "carbon peak" and "carbon neutral" blessings will affect production.

According to the data, aluminum ingots have been well destocked. Domestic aluminum prices have pulled back sideways for a long time, downstream inquiries have increased, and the effect of rushing for aluminum terminal consumption before the holiday is superimposed, supporting the recent overall strong operation of domestic aluminum prices.
