May 24 2021 14:35:02SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the ammonium chloride market continued to be strong this week (5.17-5.21), and the overall price remained at around 735 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

This week, the ammonium chloride enterprises started operating at more than 70%, and the supply of ammonium chloride was basically sufficient. According to SunSirs, the joint soda unit of China Salt Kunshan started at full capacity, the joint soda unit of Henan Jinshan Chemical started 80%, and the 1.1 million tons/year soda unit of Sichuan Leshan Hebang Chemical started at full capacity. However, at the end of the month and early next month, a small number of ammonium chloride companies in Jiangsu have annual maintenance plans, and the market is expected to reduce the operating rate.

In terms of demand, with the end of the peak season for agricultural demand, the overall domestic agricultural demand declined, but some ammonium chloride companies still had orders to be issued. In addition, export orders continued to be in good condition, and there was still some support for ammonium chloride.

The price of raw liquid ammonia was strong this week, and the cost side continued to have support for ammonium chloride. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of May 21, the domestic liquid ammonia price was 3,920 RMB/ton, which was a slight increase of 1.92% compared with the price of 3,846 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week.

The urea market continued to perform strongly, forming a certain overwhelming atmosphere for ammonium chloride. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of May 21, the domestic urea price was 2,320 RMB/ton, which was an overall increase of 2.07% compared with the price of 2,273 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week.

Market outlook

Ammonium chloride analysts of SunSirs believe that under the support of raw materials and urea, ammonium chloride has performed well in the off-season, and prices are expected to remain high and firm in the short term.
