According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the average price of paraformaldehyde on March 22 was 6,200 RMB/ton, last week’s average price was 6,433 RMB/ton, and the quotation dropped 3.63%.

Analysis review

On March 22, Shandong Aldehyde Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 30,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) including tax was 6,000 RMB/ton, which was 300 RMB/ton lower than the previous time. Linyi Shengyang Chemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 9,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) including tax was 6,100 RMB/ton, which was 100 RMB/ton lower than last time. Zibo Qixing Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 10,000 tons of paraformaldehyde, the ex-factory price of paraformaldehyde (96) was 6,500 RMB/ton including tax, which was 300 RMB/ton lower than the previous price. Affected by the decline in raw materials, manufacturers lowered their quotations. Paraformaldehyde was still available in the market, and it is mainly used in pesticide resins.

The upstream raw material methanol, according to the monitoring of SunSirs, the domestic methanol market price was 2,462 RMB/ton on March 10, and the methanol price was 2,327 RMB/ton on March 19, a decrease of 5.48% during the cycle.

Market outlook

The paraformaldehyde analysts of SunSirs predict that the methanol market is weak and the price of paraformaldehyde may be lowered.
