According to data from SunSirs’ bulk list, the price of cryolite in Henan was stable this week. The average market price in Henan during the weekend was 6,366.67 RMB/ton, a month-on-month increase of 6.65% and an increase of 6.70% compared with the same period last year.

Analysis review

Domestic cryolite prices remained stable this week. Regional manufacturers’ installations were operating normally, and there was no significant fluctuation in external quotations. As of the 5th, the ex-factory price of cryolite in Shandong was 5,500-6,800 RMB/ton, and the price of cryolite in Henan was 5,000-6,500 RMB/ton, which was stable compared to last week. The operating conditions of the factory’s installations, Zhengzhou Tianrui Grain Co., Ltd.'s production of 30,000 tons/year equipment started about 70%, Jiaozuo Minli Industrial Co., Ltd. had full equipment load and starts normally, and Shandong Zibo Kunyu Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. cryolite plant with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons was operating normally, and there was no shutdown plan for the time being. At present, the cryolite market has sufficient inventory, the downstream demand is average, and the transaction is fair.

In terms of downstream electrolytic aluminum, the price trend first rose and then fell this week, with an overall increase of 0.35% during the week. The main aluminum contract on March 3 rose by 4%, pushing the spot market to rise. As the downstream gradually returned to normal, the demand for aluminum consumption was improving, the support of the consumer side was strong, and the trend of the aluminum industry was going up, which had a positive impact on the cryolite industry. On the upstream side, domestic fluorite prices rose slightly this week, with an increase of 0.20% during the week. At present, the supply of fluorite in the field is tight, and the start of mines and flotation devices remains low, and the price of fluorite may increase slightly in the later period.

Market outlook

At present, domestic cryolite manufacturers are operating normally, the market supply is sufficient, and the downstream aluminum industry demand is good. Supported by good news, the cryolite market may increase slightly in the later period, with specific attention to market demand.
