SunSirs: The Price of Dichloromethane Is Rising, and It May Continue to Rise in the Short Term
March 03 2021 13:08:09SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the monitoring of the bulk data of SunSirs, the average price of dichloromethane  in Shandong was around 3,636.67 RMB/ton , an increase of 26.27% from the pre-holiday period.

Analysis review

After the holiday, the price of dichloromethane has been rising all the way, and the ex-factory price is constantly adjusted every day. According to SunSirs, the price of some manufacturers was also increasing at the weekend, by about 100 RMB/ton . On the one hand, the overall inventory of domestic companies is low, and the supply is tight. In February, Dongyue, Lee & Man and other companies performed equipment maintenance, and the overall output of dichloromethane  decreased, which promoted the price increase after the holiday. It is reported that Jinling and Dawang’s installations in the latter part of March have plans to reduce the load or suspend production for maintenance. The dichloromethane supply situation is even more severe in the later period. The market is expected to be bullish, and the price keeps rising. It is understood that the current ex-factory price of dichloromethane  in Shandong is around 3,630-3,780 RMB/ton , and the market price of dichloromethane for bulk water is as high as 3,950 RMB/ton .

The raw material methanol market remained high and fluctuated slightly, and the overall cost still supported for dichloromethane . After the holiday, logistics resumed, methanol downstream companies replenished appropriately, and methanol prices fluctuated mainly.

At present, the demand for downstream refrigerants is off-season. Although prices are supported by costs, the sales volume is not obvious, the inventory pressure is large, the overall start-up is not high, and the demand for dichloromethane  has not recovered significantly, which is mainly negative.

Market outlook

The methane chloride data analyst of SunSirs believes that although the current dichloromethane downstream market is not well stocked, the market supply is stable and tight. In addition, the dichloromethane  inventory of enterprises is not under pressure. It is expected that the dichloromethane  market may continue to rise in a short period of time.
