SunSirs: BPA Market Fell Broadly Due to Poor Demand
December 24 2020 09:59:43SunSirs(John)

At the beginning of this week, after Sinopec Mitsubishi substantially lowered the price of BPA, the market plummeted. At the beginning of the week, Sinopec Mitsubishi's BPA offer was adjusted to 16,000 RMB/ton, and Lihua Yiweiyuan Chemical’s BPA was adjusted to 16,000 RMB/ton. Low-priced goods were constantly appearing in the market. Despite this, the downstream continued to push down prices. Under the mentality of buying up and not buying down, even if the market went down, it could not change the sluggish trading situation. It is reported that so far, the mainstream offer in the East China market has dropped to 15,100 RMB/ton, and the offer in Shandong has dropped to 15,000-15,200 RMB/ton.

In terms of raw materials, the stalemate in the phenol market is difficult to change. The overall market negotiation is still 6,350-6,450 RMB/ton, and there is no pressure on the supply side. Although holders insist on selling at high prices and some holders selling at low prices, terminal participation is still not good. Under sales resistance, there are also large holders actively selling, and there is insufficient negotiation atmosphere in the market. Another raw material, acetone, continues to fall. The overall market negotiation is at 7,350-7,500 RMB/ton. Due to the increased pressure on the port supply side due to the concentrated shipping schedule, the holders’ willingness to sell profit increases, the offer fell, and the actual order is also steady and down. .

At present, the downstream liquid resin market has fallen significantly, which is also the main reason for the sharp decline in the current bisphenol A market. In one month, the price of liquid epoxy resin has dropped from nearly 30,000 RMB/ton to 24,500 RMB/ton in barrels. There are also lower prices. In terms of solid resins, it fell to nearly 20,000. Poor demand and weakening of favorable policies led to a decline in products, and the bisphenol A market plummeted. The sharp decline in raw materials caused downstream costs to lose support. At present, the factory has sufficient inventory. Under the situation that the supply is not tight and the terminal demand is declining, SunSirs expects that the short-term bisphenol A will continue to fall, and the market will be 15,000 RMB/ton this week.
