July 02 2020 14:40:28SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to SunSirs, the price of potassium sulfate 50 granules at the beginning of June was 2,725 RMB/ton, and the price at the end of the month was 2,675 RMB/ton, compared with 2019, a year-on-year decrease of 12.73%.

Analysis review

In June, the overall market of potassium sulfate was stable, and the operating rate of the potassium sulfate industry in Mannheim was as high as about 75%, and the highest in some areas could reach 80%, which is the highest value in recent years. In terms of varieties, Mannheim's 52% water-soluble powder has a better market, and the rest of the products are still not ideal. The price of potassium salt of water and salt system was relatively stable this month. Since the end of April, SDIC Potassium has entered the annual summer shutdown and maintenance phase. It is tentatively restarted before the end of September. This summer maintenance will last for up to 5 months, this also provided some support for the price.

At present, the agricultural demand in the domestic potash market has entered the off-season, and the demand continues to be light. According to the practice, in the summer, the price of potash fertilizer will enter a low operating state. The upstream potassium chloride market has been at a low level in June and has basically bottomed out. Downstream compound fertilizers have also been in a weak position. Dealers are mainly on the sidelines, and the market is waiting for the autumn fertilizer policy.

Market outlook

The analyst of the potassium sulphate from SunSirs believes that: at present, the overall pressure of potassium sulphate manufacturers is not large, and the enterprises have no inventory pressure. The conclusion of the bid for tobacco potassium sulphate in 2020 also brings good news to the market. It is expected that in the short term in the future, local market adjustments will be mainly small adjustments.
