According to the monitoring of SunSirs, domestic sodium metabisulfite prices continued to fall again this week. The average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite was 1676.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week, and 1.576.67 RMB/ton at the weekend, down 5.96%.

Analysis review   

Product: In May, the overall performance of the domestic sodium metabisulfite market was average. The prices of upstream raw material products continued to be weak. The main traders had a wait-and-see attitude. Due to the overstock of sodium metabisulfite and the low cost of raw materials, some companies lowered the ex-factory price in May. The overall low fell again, and the market price of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite this week was in the range of 1,400-1,700 RMB/ton.

Industrial chain: The domestic soda ash price continued to be weak this week, the price of sulfur remained stable, the cost of raw materials continued to bottom, and the market price of sodium metabisulfite rebounded under pressure

Market outlook

SunSirs analysts believe that due to the backlog of inventories, the decline in raw material costs, and weak terminal demand, the market price of sodium metabisulfite has picked up under many negative pressures.
