According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the market for ammonium chloride rose slightly in April. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the price of dry ammonium chloride for agriculture was 632 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 642.5 RMB/ton at the end of the month, an overall increase of 1.58%.

Analysis review   

After the sharp rise in March, at the beginning of the month, the ammonium chloride showed a slight drop in the height, and the price dropped to 622 RMB/ton in early April. Affected by the news in the middle of the month, ammonium chloride rushed to the highest point in the month of 647 RMB/ton and then fell back to 632 RMB/ton. According to SunSirs, a notice released by the Soda Ash Industry Association in mid-April stated that the production of United Soda Enterprises would be subject to a 30% production limit, but then the notice was “repealed” and the production limit was changed to voluntary operation. Affected by this news, domestic ammonium chloride prices showed a trend of rising first and then falling. In late April, as ammonium chloride stocks gradually consumed, domestic ammonium chloride prices rebounded slightly to 642.5 RMB/ton at the end of the month.

As of the end of the month, the operating rate of domestic alkali companies was around 70%, and the ex-factory price of ammonium chloride was basically stable. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, on April 30, 2020, the 600,000 tons of ammonium chloride plant in Kunshan, Zhongyan was in normal production, and the price of ammonium chloride for agricultural use of the manufacturer was stable. Now, the price of dry ammonium chloride was 620 RMB/ton; the price of wet ammonium chloride was 520 RMB/ton, and the manufacturer controlled the order; on April 30, 2020, the ammonium chloride plant in Jinshan Chemical Industry in Henan was in normal production, and the manufacturer received a small number of orders. Delivery of dry ammonium: 650 RMB/ton; delivery of wet ammonium: 570 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

Analysts of ammonium chloride of SunSirs believe that on the one hand, agricultural demand is about to enter the off-season, on the other hand, the inventory of domestic ammonium chloride enterprises is low, and in the later stage, ammonium chloride may present a weak and stable state.
