Price trend
On March 23, the factory price of calcium carbide in the northwest region was 3,200 RMB/ton, a significant decrease of 150 RMB/ton, or 4.48%, compared to the price on March 22. Compared to the same period last year, the decrease was 28.36%.
Analysis review
The price of raw material Shenmulan semi-coke was around 1,250 RMB/ton, the price was low and consolidated, calcium carbide cost support was general. The downstream PVC market had recently declined slightly, and downstream customers' enthusiasm for calcium carbide procurement had weakened. Superimposed high calcium carbide inventory, resulted in oversupply.
Market outlook
It is expected that the ex-factory price of calcium carbide in the northwest region may fluctuate and fall slightly, and mainly consolidated: the average price quoted by manufacturers is around 3,000 RMB/ton.
