March 16 2023 11:08:02SunSirs(John)

The market of dichloromethane had risen since March

The market price of dichloromethane had risen since March. As of March 13, the average price of dichloromethane in bulk water in Shandong was 2,845 RMB/ton, up 6.75% from the price of 2,665 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. The price of raw material methanol decreased slightly, and the cost support of dichloromethane weakened slightly; The price of downstream refrigerant R32 rose sharply, and which the provided rigid support for dichloromethane. The ex-factory price of dichloromethane enterprises was adjusted upward slightly; The price of dichloromethane rose.

The fundamentals of the industrial chain were in the game, and dichloromethane might fluctuate in a narrow range in the later stage

Since March, the operating rate of methane chloride units had risen slightly, and Dongying Huatai and Guangxi Jinyi methane chloride units had restarted. The increasing pressure on the supply side of dichloromethane had a negative impact on the market of dichloromethane in the later stage.

Since March, the price of raw material methanol had declined slightly, and the cost support of dichloromethane was weakened. According to SunSirs, the spot price of methanol was 2,647 RMB/ton as of March 13, down 3.23% from the price of 2,735 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. On the 13th, the international crude oil price fell sharply, and the domestic coal market as a whole was stable and slightly fluctuating. The methanol price would not rise significantly in the near future, and the cost of dichloromethane was expected to be stable and weaker.

Since March, the downstream refrigerant had gradually entered the traditional peak season of the industry. The inventory consumption and price of the downstream third-generation refrigerant R32 had increased, and dichloromethane had been replenished as needed. In addition, the demand for dichloromethane in downstream pharmaceutical and diluent industries also increased slightly. The demand has a rigid need of support for dichloromethane.

Market outlook

According to the methane chloride data analyst of SunSirs, as of the 13th, the downstream of dichloromethane supported just in needed, but the early maintenance device was restarted, and there was a slight pressure on the supply side, coupled with insufficient support on the cost side. Due to the basic game of the industrial chain, the market of dichloromethane is expected to fluctuate slightly in the short term.
